Hello! My name is Doug Russell and I am glad you found us.
First off, this 'About Me' page should now be named 'About Us.' After running this business from 2001 to 2007 by myself, I have taken on my younger sister, Julie, as a business partner. Julie and I are excited about embarking on this new business adventure together and we are happy to offer you some real 'family business' service.
Doug
I grew up on a beautiful farm outside of Pemberville, Ohio. During high school I became actively involved in FFA (Future Farmers of America). For my SAE (Supervised Agriculture Experience) project I planted and grew barley for the purpose of selling the straw to pond and water garden owners. The project was so successful that I carried the business on after high school and into college. My interests have led me to The Ohio State University where I am currently a senior majoring in Agri-business and Applied Economics. It has been exciting for me to take what I am learning in the classroom and applying to this 'real life' business. I know that I'm getting my money's worth! Besides running this business, I enjoy serving with a Christian college ministry on OSU's campus, running, and spending time with my family. |
Julie
I grew up on the same beautiful farm as Doug. I have also joined the FFA program at my high school and it was about that time that Doug asked me to join him in his already well established business. I readily agreed and here we are! Doug can be set in his ways sometimes so I am happy to assist the business in bringing in new ideas and helping out with the customer service side of things. I have already learned a lot of new things since joining the business and I am doing my best in being humble as Doug "teaches me the ropes." Outside of helping with this business, I enjoy running on my high school's cross country and track teams and hanging out with my friends. |
